Eurasia Tunnel sees 23,938 vehicles pass in first 14 hours

Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan shared statistics about the Eurasia Tunnel, which has drawn intense interest since its inception. Minister Arslan noted that, in the first 14 hours, a total of 23,938 vehicles passed through the tunnel.
Minister Arslan answered journalists' questions at a press conference held at Harakani Airport in the city of Kars. He declared that the Eurasia Tunnel is one of the honored projects of Turkey, and said: "There was great participation from around the world at the opening ceremony on Tuesday. The world is watching Turkey with envy. While there is a crisis in the world and no big projects, Turkey is opening a big project every three months. As a matter of fact, we opened the Eurasia Tunnel altogether. We were proud of course," he said.
Arslan indicated that they are very satisfied with the situation of the Eurasia Tunnel, which was opened with a grand ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Dec. 20. Arslan gave information about the transitions since the opening of the tunnel, stating that 23,938 vehicles passed through the tunnel over the course of the first day. "In 14 hours, approximately 10,938 cars passed from the Asian to the European side, while 13,000 vehicles crossed from the European to the Asian side.
