Four members of the PKK terrorist organization have been taken into custody by the Swedish police for attacking the police in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm in their protest against the air strikes in northern Iraq against PKK targets.
Talking to the Swedish state radio EKOT, Stockholm Police Department Police Chief Lars Byström said that the pro-PKK protesters threw stones at the policemen and police cars, and also threw a sound bomb at the officers.
Noting that the police vehicles were damaged severely, Byström said that the attackers were quickly neutralized and were taken to the police station for interrogation.
Meanwhile, a pro-PKK group of 150 people staged a protest in front of the Turkish Embassy in Sweden's capital Stockholm on Thursday afternoon and shouted slogans in support of the terrorist organization.
On this occasion, a 50-person group of expats carrying Turkish flags also gathered in front of the Turkish Embassy where the pro-PKK group was also present. The Swedish police took extensive security measures in front of the embassy to keep the two groups apart.
