Consensus between Ankara and Baghdad necessary, KRG president says

The Kurdistan Regional Government President Masoud Barzani said on Monday that a consensus must be built between Turkey and Iraq regarding the Mosul operation.

Speaking at a press conference in Khazir front, Barzani said that it is necessary for Ankara and Baghdad to have a common understanding regarding the matter.

He highlighted that with the assistance of Peshmerga forces, 200 square kilometers have been cleared from Daesh in Mosul operation.

''We will do everything we can to to make sure that Mosul does not become Aleppo" Barzani said and added that the operations will take a long time, but they will continue their struggle regardless of how long it takes to liberate the city.
