The new hotline launched by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for American citizens to report crimes committed by "removable criminal aliens" has been flooded by calls about crimes committed by a different kind of aliens.
The term "criminal alien" is used by undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of a crime, but for activists, it means space aliens, UFOs, and E.T.
On Wednesday, the Trump administration presented a new initiative called VOICE, Victims of Immigrant Crime Engagement, which is set to "serve the needs of crime victims and their families who have been impacted by crimes committed by removable criminal aliens".
Many activists criticized the move, saying that distinguishing criminals as immigrants and non-native Americans is not practical or possible and that it would only fuel the hate against immigrants. Many people also took to Twitter to give the hotline a call about the criminal aliens they see, especially aliens from outer space.

I plan on calling every day to report how badly these green aliens from outer space are treating me. How about you?
Wouldn't it be a shame if millions of people called this hotline to report their encounters with aliens of the UFO-variety. https://t.co/Cl048Gihnk

The number of hoax reports to the VOICE is unclear, however, those who try to reach the line said the waiting time is too long as the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency suggested it had impacted their service.
