To mark the centenary of the Battle of Gallipoli, the Yunus Emre Institute will organize various cultural events, including photography exhibitions, theater performances, conferences, concerts, poetry readings and film screenings in different regions around the world. The cities in which the events will take place are: Budapest, Cologne, London, Warsaw, Tbilisi, Beirut, Baku, Bucharest, Pristina, Astana, Alexandria, Constanza, Kazan and Pec. With the motto, "Yüzyıllık Barış" (Century-long Peace), the Yunus Emre Institute will commemorate the March 18 Çanakkale victory and Martyrs' Day with a special program with the support of the institute's branches. As part of the commemorations, the Yerinde Tarih Projesi (On-Site History Project) is currently being carried out. Yesterday, a group of 25 graduate students and young people with master's degrees embarked on a 10-day tour around Turkey, including Ankara, Eskişehir, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale and Istanbul. The project was designed by the Institute's Baku branch, with the goal of strengthening cultural bonds between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Aged between 18 and 35, members of the group Centennial Peace Çanakkale will be touring former Ottoman lands until March 22. With more than 30 culture centers, the Yunus Emre Institute intends to introduce Turkey's national values and attractions to the world, while improving relations with other countries and increasing cultural exchange. A number of events are organized to promote the Turkish language and art with the institute's initiatives.
