Pera Education workshops will be bringing the young and old together with art throughout March. As a part of "Mersad Berber: A Bosnia Allegory," Pera Education offers workshops geared for different age groups between March 3-31.
Pera+, an initiative of Pera Education, is to hold four different art workshops divided into two categories, 18 and over and 60 and over. During these workshops the participants will have a chance to experience art via interdisciplinary works following a tour with expert educators.
Under this program, the first workshop to be hold is "3D Horse Design." The first step of the workshop is to introduce participants to 3D printers and then guide them to create their own design for a horse. The workshop, which is set to take place on March 3 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., concentrates on basic design and print techniques as well.
The "ART: Cloth Bag" workshop examines the figure of the horse, which is used by Berber as a metaphor in most of his works. The participants are asked to engrave horses, which Berber describes as "not flamboyant horses but rather cart horses that carry the heavy weight of life" on cloth bags as white as Mount Vlasic in Bosnia. The workshop is set to take place on March 24 between 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Pera Education celebrates International Day of Older Persons with the "Drum Circle" workshop in collaboration with Alzheimer's Foundation. Held within the context of improving dialogue between generations, the workshop takes form around the aims such as creating a team spirit, reducing stress, therapy, self-awareness, expressing one's self, developing healthy relationships, taking responsibility and developing a sense of security. The workshop, which is to take place on the floor where the "Intersecting Worlds: Ambassadors and Painters" exhibition is on display, brings children between ages seven and 12 together and encourages them to come up with simple yet entertaining rhythms with their drums. The workshop is held on March 18 between 2-3 p.m.
Pera Education joins forces with Demhoodcoffee, a social initiative of the Dem Association, and hosts a "Deaf. Coffee. Chat" meeting. As a part of the meeting, the participants will get the chance to tour "Coffee Break: The Adventure of Coffee in Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics" with deaf tour guides using sign language. The meeting is to be held on March 31 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
