The automotive industry witnessed a record increase in production during the January-November period, increasing the number of units produced by 17 percent to 1.2 million compared to the previous year. The increase was primarily due to the recovery in European markets and commissioning of the past years' investments. The sector's highest level of production until this record was 1.1 million units in 2011.
According to data announced by the Automotive Industry Association (OSD), the export figures also increased 12 percent to 900,000 in the same period, while the highest export figures until this year were recorded in 2008 as 910,000 units.
The total increase in production was 12 percent amounting to 126,236 units in November, while automobile production also rose 5 percent to 78,872 units. The OSD's year-end production target is around 1.325-1.350 million units, while its export target is between 950,000-970,000 units.
