Speaking at a panel entitled 'Turkey and the Arab World: Istanbul as the Strategic Meeting Point'at the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum held in Istanbul, Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu expressed that as a result of the internal strife in Syria it has been two years since he has been able to visit Damascus, which he says he misses deeply.
Emphasizing the necessity of establishing a new common market for economic relations, Davutoğlu also expressed intentions to lift all mutual visa regulations with Arab nations. "We are rediscovering ourselves as intellectuals, politicians and businessmen. Politicians can convene to create the perfect vision and say wonderful things, however these great words and this vision is not sustainable without the support of businessmen. Therefore, we need to establish a common market," said Davutoğlu.
