The Istanbul Furniture Fair (İSMOB) will be held at the CNR EXPO Fair Center in Yeşilköy from Jan. 27 to Feb. 1. The fair, which is jointly organized by CNR Holding and the Furniture Manufacturers Association (MOSDER) and supported the by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB) and Ministry of Finance, will display innovative furniture designs with modern and classic styles for houses and offices in addition to baby and youth furniture. The fair aims to provide maximum support to Turkey's furniture exports as a part of the 2023 goals. As one of the top three furniture fairs in the world, the Turkish furniture industry achieves 20 percent of its annual export target with İSMOB, which is supposed to contribute $650 million to the sector's exports this year. According to a statement by İSMOB, thousands of Russian visitors were registered in addition to procurement committees that will come from a number of countries including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Belgium, Algeria, the Czech Republic, China, Morocco, France, the Netherlands, Iraq, Iran, Israel and Italy. The fair, which was previously held in a 50,000 square meter area, is supposed to welcome over 1,000 brands in an area of 71,000 square meters. Last year, a total of 112,000 domestic and foreign visitors attended the event and the number of visitors is expected to reach 120,000 this year. The İSMOB Design Contest, which is organized as a part of the fair every year, will enable participating firms to compete in the categories of sitting set, bedroom, dining room, teen room and accessories and the best stand.
