The high price difference between producers and market shelves leads consumers to buy directly from the farm. Even the prices of home-delivered products sold on the Internet by farmers from different cities in Turkey are cheaper than the market shelf prices. While the price of 1 kilogram of tomatoes is TL 7 ($2.80) on market shelves, it can be bought for TL 4.50 from farms. Farms which provide free shipment for orders totaling TL 75 and above are proving popular for people living in big cities, since their products are more natural and affordable. The only thing farmers expect is that this kind of shopping will spread in a short time.
