Petkim, the leading petrochemical company in Turkey, will establish a company, Petkim Specialties, to concentrate on the production of high value-added engineering plastics (masterbach, compound) and high-technology plastics.
According to an announcement made through KAP (an online forum to notify the public), towards this end, the assets of the 14,000 ton-capacity factory will be moved to Petkim Specialties. In addition, in the first phase, by providing new equipment with a 10,000 ton-capacity, which requires an investment of $5 million, the total capacity of Petkim Specialties will reach 24,000 tons. Petkim, a company listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, has its headquarters and main production plants in İzmir. Petkim is currently one of the major raw material producers in the Turkish petrochemical industry with more than 50 different petrochemical products, including plastics and synthetic rubber.
