According to research conducted by the Turkish European Foundation for Education and Scientific Studies (TAVAK), the number of Turkish entrepreneurs in the EU reached 149,000 in 2016.
According to TAVAK President Faruk Şen there are 77,200 Turkish entrepreneurs in Germany alone and these employees play an indisputable role in the German economy along with the 3.5 million Turkish workers in EU countries who make up 0.67 percent of all workers in the EU.
The study also revealed that despite lower turnover rates and declining company profits, there has not been a decline in the number of Turkish workers in these countries despite recent negative developments between Turkey and the EU.
Turkish entrepreneurs in EU countries invest in 126 sectors whereas entrepreneurs of other nationalities invest in only five sectors in the EU.
