Five films debut this week in Turkish theaters:
The Whole Truth
Directed by Courtney Hunt, nominated for an Academy Award in 2008 with her film "Frozen River," "The Whole Truth" stars Keanu Reeves, Renee Zellweger, Kenneth Chol and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The drama focuses on a defense attorney who works to get his teenage client acquitted of murdering his wealthy father. The attorney enlists the help of a young lawyer Janelle, who is determined to find out the truth about what happened that day.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV
The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the hallowed Crystal but under from the threat of the Empire of Niflheim, who aim to get the crystal at any price. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king's magic, Nyx Ulric and his fellow glaives stand before the crown city of Insomnia, fighting to stay the inexorable advance of Niflheim's imperial army. Before the overwhelming military might of the empire, King Regis can only salvage his kingdom by accepting an ultimatum - he must cede all lands outside the crown city, and see his son, Prince Noctis, wed to Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae, now captive of Niflheim. As the war of wills rages, the machinations of Niflheim transform Insomnia into an awe-inspiring battleground, pulling Nyx into a struggle for the very survival of the kingdom. The Sci-Fi animated film, dubbed by Aaron Paul, Neil Newbon, Sean Bean and Lena Headey, is directed by Takeshi Nozue.
Starring Sofia Black Delia, Analeigh Tipton, Travis Tope and Colson Baker, "Viral" is co-directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman and written by Barbara Marshall. The film centers upon two young girls who try to adapt to the new town where they recently moved. After their father who works at an elementary school decides to start a new life with his family, the young girls begin to worry about their future.
Bol Şans (Good Luck)
The Turkish drama "Bol Şans," starring Selim Gülgören, Burçin Abdullah, Emir Benderlioğlu ile Sarp Bozkurt, is written and directed by Gökhan Yılmaz. A young man sings at the bar his friend owns and is very content with life. When his father dies, he returns to the village where he was born and plans to arrange the funeral and then head back to Istanbul. Things take a strange turn and the young man decides to buy the open-air cinema in the village.
Barbie: Star Light Adventure
Co-directed by Michael Goguen and Andrew Tan, the animated film "Barbie: Star Light Adventure," with voice acting by Dwight Schultz, Erica Lindbeck, Robbie Daymond, Kimberly Woods and Ben Bledsoe, follows Barbie, who sets sail for a new adventure in a faraway land.
