The consumer confidence index rebounded in October after declining to the lowest level in six and a half years last month. The index increased by 7.3 percent and reached 62.78 in October compared to the previous month, according to the consumer tendency survey carried out by the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on Thursday.
According to the survey, people are expecting the financial situation to improve in the next 12 months. The financial situation expectation of households index increased by 5.5 percent and reached 86.58 in October, while it was 82.08 in the previous month.
The general economic situation expectation index also increased by 12.3 percent to 80.87 in the same time period. The unemployment expectation index, which indicates consumers' employment outlook, also improved by 4.4 percent and became 64.61.
