Noting that the government is already putting the 2016 Action Plan and reform package into practice, Davutoğlu said "we opened a new chapter and full-membership with the European Union is the primary objective. He also indicated that the government is ready to meet the needs of its citizens under the new period of leadership with great ambition and excitement. In addition, the prime minister expressed that the burden of the minimum wage hike will be shared with the private sector. Meanwhile, Davutoğlu also attended the fifth International Young Businessmen Congress of the Young Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (Genç MÜSİAD), where he referred to young entrepreneurs in the regions affected by the Syrian crisis saying "protect the young entrepreneurs in eastern and southeastern Anatolia who are adversely affected by the conditions in those regions. Each of you should regard these young entrepreneurs as brothers and sisters. This [cooperation] can be achieved with the mediation of our Economy Ministry and MÜSİAD."
