Confidence in the Turkish economy declined slightly for the second month in January, the Turkish Statistical Institute reported on Thursday.
The consumer confidence index was down 2.7 percent in January, to 71.62 from 73.58 in December according to the report. But the probability of savings index saw a healthy bounce to 25.09 from 22.79 in previous month, or 10.1 percent.
The worst decline was in the index that tracks employment expectations, which fell 6.2 percent to 73.57. The expectations for the general economic situation decreased by 4.3 percent to 95.65 in January.
Expectations for the financial situation of households also slipped from 93.19 to 92.17, or 1.1 percent.
