Despite the tightened travel instructions of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkey continues to be a popular holiday destination for German politicians from various parties. Serap Güler, a politician from the Christian Democrat Party (CDU), and Özcan Mutlu from Germany's Green Party were spotted in different locations in Turkey where they are enjoying their holiday.
In the photos, Mutlu was seen with Nusret Gökçe aka "Salt Bae," the Turkish butcher who became an internet phenomenon after posting Instagram videos showing him slicing meat and seasoning it with salt in one of his steakhouses went viral.
Güler, on the other hand, enjoyed the summer evening in Bodrum. On her Instagram page, she wrote "Goodnight from Bodrum," under her photo, where she poses in a green dress.
Earlier this week, Volkan Baran was also spotted on vacation in the coastal town of Didim ignoring Germany's controversial travel warning, German journalist Martin Lejeune reported Sunday.
The journalist also shared a picture of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) politician in a tweet. "Volkan Baran, enjoying his vacation in Didim, seems to not have cared about his party's travel warnings against Turkey," Lejeune said.
