A German media professor, Ulrich Teusch, has criticized mainstream media for deliberately suppressing information and selective reporting, showing double standards in both electronic and print media.

According to the Nachrichten Express, a German news website, Teusch said the media system needs reforms as today's mainstream media in the country is becoming more and more dependent on external factors.

Teusch said media should be independent without any economic or political influence.
