The Russian Foreign Ministry responded Wednesday to U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May's scathing remarks with a jest on Twitter.

On Tuesday evening, May had declared, "I have a very simple message for Russia. We know what you are doing. And you will not succeed."

Over a picture of the prime minister enjoying a glass of wine, the foreign ministry tweeted, "We know what YOU are doing as well. Dear Theresa, we hope, one day you will try Crimean #Massandra red wine."

The photo was taken during the Lord Mayor's Banquet at London's Guildhall, where May accused Russia of "planting fake news," sowing "discord in the West," and meddling with other nations' affairs.

The Russian government denies allegations of meddling, specifically in regard to the United States and other European elections.
