Featuring the works of the great composer Johann Sebastian Bach, Bachfest Ankara will host the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra which will perform a special Baroque repertoire "Mare Nostrum" (Our Sea) from the Baltic region to the Mediterranean on Nov. 23. As this season's fifth performance, the Finnish orchestra will delight classical music enthusiasts with the pieces by great Baroque composers as well as others from the early period of classical music. The group will perform at 7:00 p.m. at CerModern and is conducted by Finnish clavichordist and organist Aapo Hakkinen. In January, Bachfest Ankara took place for the first time with Turkey's only Baroque orchestra, İzmir Baroque, world-famous soprano Emma Kirkby and the first violinist of the London Baroque Ensemble, Ingrid Seifert. Bachfest will continue to gather music lovers with its impressive Baroque performances throughout the year.
