Regarded as one of the most impressive bassists of this century, Avishai Cohen will take to the stage on Jan. 7, 8 and 9 at Babylon. When he was 14, Cohen was inspired by Jaco Pastorius to become a bassist. The musician who later started to play upright bass made his biggest success when he recorded his first album after an offer from jazz pianist Chick Corea. Cohen, who has teamed up with two young and talented Israeli musicians, Nitai Hershkovits and Daniel Dor, will be on Babylon's stage in January. The Avishai Cohen Trio invites music lovers to their unique electronic and acoustic jazz, combined with Middle East, East European and Afro-American sounds.
