As part of the Filmmor Women's Film Festival, Swedish-Iranian filmmaker Nahid Persson Sarvestani's "The Queen and I" will be screened in Istanbul. Sarvestani decided to make a documentary feature about Farah Pahlavi, the former queen and empress of Iran. Sarvestani, who spent her childhood in poverty, watched her wedding to Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi like a fairy tale. Farah met her like another refugee from her country and got into the queen's world for one and a half years with a plan to confront the ideology of the shah. Although Sarvestani had previously been opposed to the shah, the two found middle ground and formed a close friendship, trying to understand each other's experiences.
