Nine-day exhibition to commemorate Battle of Gallipoli

İzmir will host two exhibitions as part of the centenary of the Battle of Gallipoli. The first exhibition, which is held by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, is composed of 64 boards displaying important details, information, documents and photographs of land and sea assaults. The exhibition, which will open tomorrow in Vasıf Çınar Square, can be visited until March 27. The other exhibition, which also be opens tomorrow, at the Folkart Gallery with the title "Bir Hürriyet Türküsü" (A Song of Independence), will exhibit a variety of photos and belongings relating to the Battle of Gallipoli. The exhibition will display 100 never-before-seen photographs from the war, two bullets that collided in the air during the fight, soldiers' food boxes, shoes that were worn by the Turkish soldiers that fought despite the lack of supplies, guns, binoculars, boxes on which the Allies fought during the battle and many other personal belongings.
