Bilkent Symphony Orchestra pays tribute to poet Nazım Hikmet

Ankara's biggest semi-open-air amphitheater, Bilkent Odeon, is finishing off the summer with a two-day concert honoring Turkey's well-known socialist poet, the late Nazım Hikmet. Actor Genco Erkan will be the lead soloist in the "Nazım Hikmet Oratorio" accompanied by the Nazım Hikmet Choir and the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. Bringing a symphonic touch to Hikmet's famous poems, the oratorio will also feature a number of prestigious names in Turkey's classical music scene, including conductor Naci Özgüç, pianist Fazıl Say, vocalist Serenad Bağcan, baritone Arda Aktar, conductor İbrahim Yazıcı as well as İdil Bursa, Gökçe Çatakoğlu and Çetin Özen.
