The St. Petersburg Northern Sinfonia State Orchestra will commemorate the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky on his 175th birthday today at the Türker İnanoğlu Show Center. Tchaikovsky's compositions have reached audiences beyond borders and culture, addressing the souls of many art-lovers to become known around the world. The Russian state orchestra will perform some parts of Tchaikovsky's ballets "The Queen of Spades," "Eugene Onegin," Mazepa," "The Maid of Orleans," "Swan Lake" and "The Nutcracker." Soloists Olesya Petrova from the Rimsky-Korsakov Opera and Ballet, Janna Dombrovskaya and Yevgeny Akimov from Mariinsky Theater and Vladimir Tselebrovsky from the St. Petersburg State Theater of Musical Comedy will perform. The orchestra will be conducted by Italian maestro Fabio Mastrangelo, who is the art director of the State Hermitage Orchestra and Music-Hall Theater as well as the conductor of the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater.
