The Education, Culture and Research Foundation is bringing together artists from different disciplines with a group exhibition. Painter Aydın Arkun and sculptor Nilay Özenbay are displaying their works at the "Abstract Reflections" exhibition until Dec. 25 at Ekavart Gallery. Although sculptor Nilay Özenbay designs the form, she likens her process to an unknown power pushing her and divining her artistic creation as she delves into the abyss of memories and images. As soon as Özenbay looks at her sculptures, she feels the same inner peace and tranquility as she does when looking up at the sky, but sometimes the anger as well as the calmness of the sea. The artist created her new works with this feeling, working on shaping her abstract inner womanhood like waves of a sea washing against the rocks. She thinks that the women created by the Creator stand as a remedy to solitude and have existence in unity. Özenbay uses distinct colors in her sculptures that are currently being displayed at the exhibition.
