Pianist and composer Anjelika Akbar will perform on Jan. 6 at Hisar Schools Cultural Center for a charity event. For the last five years, Akbar and the Boğaziçi University Robert College Graduate Businessmen and Managers Association have been carrying out a project to build new schools around Anatolia. Following a successful initiative in the village of Tezeren that resulted in a new elementary school building, Akbar will give a charity concert to raise money for scholarships. During the concert, ethnic musicology expert Tolga Ünaldı will accompany Akbar on stage as a guest musician. The concert will offer a colorful and emotional repertoire, and the revenue will be used to provide scholarships for successful students who need financial aid to continue their education.
