Social cinema platform Fil'm Hafızası, which was initiated to raise awareness of independent cinema in Turkey, will welcome 2016 with a thematic event titled "Best Shorts of 2015." Each year, the thematic events are hosted by a well-recognized cinema figure. The first event of this New Year will be overseen by director Ezel Akay. Akay, who directed "Neredesin Firuze," "Hacivat Karagöz Neden Öldürüldü?" and "Yedi Kocalı Hürmüz," was also an actor in many Turkish films and TV series. Apart from the screening of award winning short films, the event will be enlivened by Akay's insights on cinema. "The Legend of Beaver Dam," "La Migala," "Welcome to the Jungle," "Dik," "The Last," "Moving On," "Martian American" and "Dondurma" (Ice Cream) will all be screened at the event. The films are in Turkish; however, subtitles in English will also be provided. Tickets for the event can be purchased on the official website of Fil'm Hafızası.
