The SamsunState Opera and Ballet will offer opera lovers the chance to watch "Masquerade" written by Giuseppe Verdi, one of the most famous composers of opera whose works have been staged millions of times on stages all around the world. Opera fans will get to view a star-studded performance of this opera, which hasn't been staged in Turkey in years, in Samsun.
The story tells of Amelia, whose love affair with Boston Governor Riccardo led to her death at the hands of her husband. The opera was first staged in 1940 by the Ankara State Opera and Ballet. The three-curtain act is led by conductor Mikail İskrov, director Yiğit Günsoy and choreographer and designer Seda Ayvazoğlu. Stage props and costumes were designed by Gülden Sayıl and lighting by Oğuz Murat Yılmaz. The "Masquerade" opera will be performed March 25 and March 27.
