Istanbul MetropolitanMunicipality's Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall will host Dagestan State Academic Dance Ensemble "Lezginka" with music lovers next week. Lezginka, the cultural representative of many people living in the Caucasus, will meet art lovers on Wednesday, April 12 at CRR.
Founded in 1958 under the name of "Lezginka," Dagestan State Academic Honored Dance Ensemble has been headed by Canbolat Magomedov, the Russian Federation honorary artist and cultural veteran, since 1993, while Russian Federation honorary artist Zalimhan Hangereyev has been leading the ensemble as the art director.
The ensemble, which includes folklore of the people of the North Caucasus and Russia in addition to Dagestan, consists of 33 ethnic groups. In the event, traditional folklore motifs will be displayed with contemporary stage interpretations.
