The 36th Istanbul Film Festival will be screening "America Square," the fast-paced story of a tattoo artist, an ordinary racist and a Syrian refugee who cross paths.
Winning the 2016 Thessaloniki FIPRESCI Award, the Honorable Mention (leading actor) and Honorable Mention Young Jury awards "America Square," follows a Greek nationalist whose world turns upside down when his favorite park in Athens becomes a popular place and a temporary residence of refugees.
The refugees also get involved with the underworld of Greece in order to stay alive and travel to Europe.
With vigorous visuality and striking narration is observing with a challenging view to "mass migration economy" where borders mean trade and time is always lacking.
