"Tekamül," an exhibition by Kifayet Emel Özkul, who is an academic at Istanbul University Ceramics, Glass and Tile Program and an artist of the Ministry of Culture, has kicked off with the theme "existence." The exhibition that puts 30 tile works on display will be open at Küçükçekmece Municipality's Sefaköy Culture and Arts Center until May 11. Kifayet Emel Özkul said she tried to create unique works. "My works are generally black and white and they all have a message. 'Every night has a dawn' says in the Isra surah in Quran. I wanted to highlight this balance. The headdress of our Prophet was black. I love black. To me, it represents nobility. I generally use tulip motifs. What I want to tell is that everything goes back to its essence," she explained.
