Fenerbahçe shares up by 5 pct after victory

After Fenerbahçe's victory over its archrivals Galatasaray on Sunday, shares of Fenerbahçe traded at Borsa Istanbul increased by more than 5 percent yesterday, pleasing investors along with the fans of the club. Fenerbahçe won the derby with Galatasaray 1-0 on Sunday night in the Spor Toto Super League, and at the opening of the stock market on Monday, the shares of Fenerbahçe had increased by 5.26 percent when compared to the opening of the day before. As a result, Fenerbahçe's shares recovered the losses suffered last week. Currently, the increase observed in shares when compared to the previous closing of the stock exchange is around 3.72 percent and is at TL 47.35 level. Galatasaray's shares faced a 2.56 percent decline after Beşiktaş caught up with Galatasaray in the league table, with the point differential Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe being reduced to just one at the top of the league. Although Galatasaray's shares had increased last week while shares of other football teams had decreased, Galatasaray's shares started the week at a TL 20.90 level but decreased by 2.33 percent when compared to closing on Friday. The total market value of Fenerbahçe with current prices has increased by TL 50 million to TL 1.2 billion when compared to Friday, while Galatasaray's total market value decreased by TL 10 million to TL 455 million.
