A newly opened school that is part of the Şevket Yılmaz Training and Research Hospital in the northwestern province of Bursa offers classes to in-patient children to help them continue their education until they fully recover. Ümmühan Keyif Koç, a teacher at the hospital school, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they accept students from primary school to high school. Courses are designed in line with students' needs. The school starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. "We do not have specific times for courses. They can come here anytime between school hours and stay as long as they wish," she said. Some children-patients said they enjoy the classes and do not want to leave. Koç said when in-patient children are recovered, they leave the hospital and new students come to the classes. Associate Professor Murat Tutanç, the head physician, said children who have to stay at the hospitals for weeks feel better when they attend courses at the hospital. Other hospital schools are also available in certain cities around the country.
