Turkey's Council of Higher Education (YÖK) announced Friday that investigations launched into a total 6,792 academic and administrative personnel over Gülenist terror cult links since July 15 coup attempt and 5,342 of these were suspended from duty.
According to the statement released by YÖK, a state of emergency commission was established at the YÖK in accordance with the related decision of the prime ministry to oversee suspensions and investigations.
The statement said that 4,225 academics and 1,117 administrative personnel from public and private universities were suspended from duty.
