Police detained five suspects with links to five Daesh terrorists who were killed in a shootout with police on Wednesday in the province of Konya. Anti-terror police squads raided a house in the southern city of Adana to capture the suspects.
The suspects were taken to hospital for routine health checkups and were then brought to police headquarters. Security forces are continuing to search for five more Daesh-linked suspects, media reports said.
On Wednesday, 233 people were captured in nationwide operations against the terrorist group. Daesh has become one of the most active terrorist groups in Turkey over a span of just two years. The terror group has been blamed for a string of attacks in Turkey, ranging from suicide bombings to gun attacks. The country has deported over 5,000 Daesh suspects, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently said.
