Istanbul’s first snow of the season expected on Wednesday

The season's first snow is expected to hit Istanbul on Wednesday as winds from the northeast are set to significantly drop the temperatures across the Marmara region, the Directorate General of Meteorology forecasted.
Temperatures in Istanbul are expected to vary between 1 °C and 3 °C on New Year's Eve while snowfall will start in the city on Wednesday before transitioning to sleet on Friday.
In Turkey's capital, Ankara, temperatures will also drop suddenly to a minimum of -8 °C however, no snowfall is expected for the city in the upcoming week.
