Onlookers prevented a man trying to commit suicide in Istanbul's Çağlayan Courthouse on Tuesday by catching him from his sweater at the last moment.
The middle-aged man, reportedly on the verge on breaking up with his wife, tried to jump to the closed yard of the courthouse from the fourth floor.
Security guards rushed to the scene and evacuated two floors for security purposes, while psychologists working in the courthouse also arrived at the scene to convince the man to end his attempt. Firefighters also took security precautions.
Despite efforts, the man, crying at the same time, did not leave the guard rails. A security man tried to take him away from the guard rails, but as he catched the man from his sweater, the man dangled for a couple of seconds, and more people came to the rescue, taking the man to safety.
The man was brought to the courthouse's police station to give his testimony.
