A 91-year-old Italian grandmother on Thursday completed a 768-mile walk to pray for world peace. Emma Moroncini was welcomed by hundreds of supporters at her final destination, the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Lujan on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Dressed in a reflective orange jacket, a wide-brimmed hat, a white scarf over her head and large sunglasses, Moroncini was escorted by well-wishers for the final mile of her pilgrimage. Her goal, according to a Facebook page following her trek, was to reach the basilica to pray for world peace to Our Lady of Lujan, a 16th century icon of the Virgin Mary on display there. She also said she would pray to Our Lady of Lujan, the patron saint of Argentina, to help children and broken families. Moroncini said she would like to meet Pope Francis.
