A group of students from Cumhuriyet University's (CÜ) Faculty of Technology have designed an electric car, named Kangal V1, which was inspired by Sivas's famous Kangal breed dogs as part of a TÜBİTAK-founded project. In order to find a sponsor to help build the car, university officials and students held a press conference at the CÜ Faculty of Technology yesterday.
The adviser to Cumhuriyet University's Chancellor Professor, Ertan Büyük, said that the students are looking for financial help for their project and said, "Our University will provide financial and moral support within the limits of our abilities. The students will have meetings with the governorate, the municipality and the Chamber of Industry and Trade."
The dean of the Faculty of Technology, Professor Orhan Tatar, expressed his happiness, saying, "I am proud to see that our faculty is taking the initiative on such a project. I congratulate all these young people."
The leader of the project, which is composed of 13 students, Kerem Ersoy said that they are looking for a sponsor to back their project, and said, "We will start to build the project and it will be concluded in two months. We expect the support of all the people in Sivas during this time."
