Nasır el-Buhaysi, a 17-year-old Gazan who was paralyzed and bedridden for nine years due to an accident, has successfully completed his high school education. Graduating from high school is a dream come true for Buhaysi, and he proudly exhibits his diploma next to his bed in the intensive care unit of Şuheda el-Aksa hospital. Speaking with difficulty, Buhaysi said: "Although I am paralyzed and have to stay in hospital, my illness cannot prevent me from feeling happy about my 85.3 average. When I learned my results, all the sadness I have been feeling turned into happiness. The intense care unit environment turned into a wedding scene. We cried together with my mother who supported me the whole time during this process."
Stressing that her son will continue his studies by going to college, Buhaysi's mother said: "Nasır has lived in the hospital for nine years since the accident happened. The illness turned him into a lifeless boy who cannot move or breathe without a machine. Still, Nasır did not give up on studying and has realized his dream."
