The annual Christmas Bazaar in Antalya's Alanya district, home away from home to 45,000 foreigners from 90 countries, will feature seasonal products and foreign tastes on Dec. 13. Taking place near the district's municipal building, the bazaar will welcome Russian expats as well as representatives from Russian foundations. They will give out samples of local food as well as hand-made crafts. Abdullah Karaoğlu, the president of the Foreigners' Assembly in Alanya, said Russian residents look forward to strengthening their friendships and sense of fellowship with Turks at the bazaar. "We live in harmony in Alanya," he said, recalling that the Foreigners' Assembly in Alanya is a first in Turkey. Dina Adzhieva, a Russian national and member of the Foreigners' Assembly and Alanya Haghia Yorgi Church Foundation, also said that the current relations between Russia and Turkey have affected the atmosphere in the district. The sixth annual Christmas Bazaar aims to boost relations between foreigners and locals in the district.
