Turkish and Russian chefs cook for Syrian refugees

Turkish and Russians chefs prepared traditional food for 100 Syrian families with children at the Üsküdar Municipality's Boğaziçi Life Center. Food expert Nilgün Tatlı and Russian chef Olga Condrosova introduced five different meals from Syrian, Russian and Turkish cuisine yesterday. Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen said they wanted to offer a taste of different culinary cultures to Syrian refugees, while helping them to enjoy a fun day. He said that the district is home to many foreign residents as well as Turkish people. Russian chef Condrosova, who hasbeen residing in Istanbul for 20 years, said the event sets an example for sustaining peace around the world. Nilgün Tatlı also said that more cultural events should be organized to introduce Turkish culture to foreigners.
