Refugees search for illegal migration routes on Google

Thousands of refugees who fled from their countries for various reasons and hit the road in hopes of establishing a new life set via the Google search engine. Google's Google Trend service has released a list titled "A Year in Search 2015," featuring the top googled subjects and questions. According to the list, Syrians and Iraqi refugees accessed Google in various locations in their countries and searched for the regions where they would cross the border illegally. The list, published as "A Human Tragedy: Immigrant Crisis," features questions searched by the refugees such as "How many kilometers is Turkey to Greece?" "Where is the Aegean Sea?" "What is the distance to Greece to seek asylum?" "What are the weather conditions in İzmir?" and "What is the wave height in the Aegean Sea today?"
