The Denizli International Glass Biennial, Turkey's only such event, will be inaugurated on May 5.
Organized for the fourth time by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and Karma Design Workshop, the three-day event will feature conferences, panel sessions, glass-blowing presentations, as well as glassware and artworks exhibitions.
The theme for the fourth edition of the event has been set as "Transformation." The event will welcome professional and amateur glass makers from Turkey as well as the U.S., Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.
All of the events at the biennial will be open to visitors who would like to witness how glass is transformed into artwork.
Every day, visitors will be able to watch the performances of six different glass masters free of charge.
In addition, a group exhibition dubbed "Transformation," curated by Ömür Duruerk, a painting exhibition "Glass, Interpreted by Me," curated by Prof. Hakkı Dereköylü and another group exhibition by students from Anadolu University's Department of Glassworks at the Faculty of Fine Arts, will be on display until May 15.
The 4th Denizli International Glass Biennial will also offer some surprises to its visitors. Those visiting the biennial between 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. will be able to make glass beads and create their own jewelry and attend several other workshops for amateurs.
