The 22nd Istanbul Jazz Festival continues with a unique program titled 'Night Out' (Gece Gezmesi), in which 16 bands and artists will perform in 10 different locations on Wednesday night in on the axis between Moda and Yeldeğirmeni neighborhoods of Asian district of Kadıköy.

Renown Turkish-Swedish jazz artist İlhan Erşahin is among the performers of the event through his project Istanbul Sessions. Barış Demirel, Can Güngör, Mikado, The Away Days, Gaye Su Akyol, Su İdil, Kalben, Deniz Taşar Quintet, Neşet Ruacan Quartet, Burcu Tatlıses & Cihan Mürtezaoğlu, Kaan Boşnak, Ha Za Vu Zu, Alpman and The Midnight Walkers, Samet Kılıç & Serhat Yılmaz Duo and Can Kazaz are the other performers of the event.

The event also includes a workshop in which participants will create their own instruments and find a chance for brief performances.

Club Quartier, Yeldeğirmeni Art Center, Moda Sahnesi, All Saints Moda Church, Atölye Hangart, TAK, Köşe, Living Room, KargART ve Tasarım Bakkalı are the venues in which jazz performers will hit the stages. As some performances overlap and some venues are distant from each other - at most by 2 kilometers - participants are advised to plan the events and venues they wish to attend beforehand.

Performances will start at 7:30 p.m. and will last until 1:00 a.m.

This year, the festival has specific focus on Istanbul's Asian side; as last weekend, a program titled "Jazz in the Park" was also organized at Istanbul's Asian side in Fenerbahçe neighborhood. Speaking to Turkish daily Radikal, festival director Pelin Opçin stated that they have discovered a dense audience in Asian side, while multi-stage events can be performed in the area due to an increasing number of independent and municipality-funded venues.

Tickets to the event and a detailed program can be obtained here.
