Two soldiers were killed; two others were injured on Sunday in a PKK bomb attack in southeastern Tunceli district. The PKK terrorists detonated the bomb they had previously placed on the Tunceli-Erzincan highway just as an armored military vehicle was passing by.
Four soldiers were injured in the attack, two of whom later succumbed to their wounds at Tunceli State Hospital
In another attack on Saturday, PKK terrorists killed four soldiers and wounded six others in the southeastern Hakkari province.
Turkey has been conducting operations against the PKK, an organization listed as terrorist by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union, since late July, when a two-and-a-half year lull in the fighting ended.
Since then more than 150 members of the security forces have been killed while, according to the government, more than 2,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
