Turkey's G20 Sherpa ambassador and deputy to the Foreign Ministry undersecretary, Ayşe Sinirlioğlu, said on Tuesday at a press briefing that inclusiveness and implementation of plans tops the agenda for the upcoming G20 summit. She further added that combating terrorism and the ongoing refugee crisis will be discussed by the leaders. Turkey now holds the rotating presidency for the G20 and the leader's summit will be held in the Mediterranean city of Antalya on Nov. 15-16. Sinirlioğlu said during its presidency Turkey greatly prioritizes the "three-I's" – inclusiveness, implementation and investment.
With increasing terror attacks both domestically and internationally by terrorist organizations such as the PKK, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) and the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has drawn attention to the importance of the danger for all countries and urged G20 leaders to discuss the matter. In addition to terror, Erdoğan said due to the ongoing Syria crisis along with the latest airstrikes by Russia, not only Turkey, but European countries may face another influx of refugees at its borders.
Sinirlioğlu said Turkey greatly values implementation of G20 plans and that it has been the most criticized issue from previous summits. She further added that in the framework of implementation, "By the year of 2018, we aim to include an additional economy in the world that is as big as India's." She also commented on the inclusiveness part of the G20 summit and said that it includes the two subcategories of inclusiveness within and outside G20 countries. She said that it is significant since aims to build better bridges between G20 countries and underdeveloped and developing countries.
