Turkey's opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın has slammed main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) spokesperson Selin Sayek Böke for her criticism of the MHP's support of the government by attending the opening of the judicial year held by the Supreme Court of Appeals at the Presidential Palace.
"Apparently, the CHP is not able to continue to carrying forward the solidarity and political consensus that was created in the Yenikapı meeting," Yalçın said, criticizing the CHP's decision to not attend the opening of the judicial year ceremony. Böke implied the MHP gave Erdoğan a helping hand and said, "The MHP can arrange its next congress in the [Presidential] palace's garden." Yalçın answered Böke by saying that the "CHP can arrange its congress in Qandil Mountain and they can also invite Karayılan and Bayık [PKK leaders] to it, which will suit the CHP."
Böke previously said the CHP will not attend the opening of the judicial year, due to the "shadowy independence of the judiciary" because it was to be held at the Presidential Palace.
