Kiev was the host of one of the most important days in the relations between Turkey and Ukraine. Turkcell had won the first tender including the most useful frequencies of the 3G tender of Life:), and organized a ceremony attended by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Turkcell CEO Ahmet Akça presented a check representing the payment of Life:) of the 3G license totaling 3.4 billion Ukrainian grivna to Ukrainian Vice President Gennadiy Zubko. "We believe the 3G investment, which will strengthen the ties between Turkey and Ukraine, is a great step for the strategic business leadership of our country in the region. We also thank our president for his support," Akça said.During the press meeting of the two leaders, Poroshenko thanked Erdoğan for the investments of Turkish entrepreneurs in Ukraine. Furthermore, a photograph taken to represent this investment was shared on the website of the Ukrainian Presidency's Press Service. Poroshenko wrote under the photograph "We kindly thank Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his support to draw Turkish investments to Ukraine. This support was confirmed with the symbolic check of 3 billion grivna by Turkcell for the 3G license." Life:) is taking action to offer 3G service to its customers within the next six months, and according to the tender conditions, all regional centers within the next 18 months will have 3G service.
